THE BRAIN THAT WOULDN'T DIE by Hartman by sideshowmonkey THE BRAIN THAT WOULDN'T DIE by Hartman by sideshowmonkey
One of my favorite old black and white movies is "The Brain that Wouldn't Die". Loved the concept and just had to do a piece of fan art. You can see the movie on youtube here ---> www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ljDDp…

I just remember being so damn disappointed with the monster at the end. All that build up to a dude in a rubber mask. I was hoping for some extra fake limbs to be jutting out of him at least. Jan in the pan was fantastic though she stole the whole movie.

Love this movie! Love this movie! Once wrote a script for an cartoon sitcom based on it! It wasn't good! Your designs are better! Woo!

Head transplants always scare the piss out of me. Did you hear about the doctor that found a volunteer for the first real-life human head transplant?

No joke, I get flashbacks to the last X-Files film. Even the doctors (not the one who wants to perform the surgery, but a critic and neurosurgeon in the field in Italy) says that it's a fate worse then death.

Normally I'd attribute that to religious paranoia, but for once, I have to agree.

That's great work. Monster, damsel, creepy mad scientist's lab, it all comes together.:D (Big Grin)  I'll have to check out that movie sometime. :) (Smile)

I have that movie in a collection of 50 black and white classics! It made me appreciate old school horror because it was such a different concept with suspense.

No kidding. This movie was second creepiest I had watched at the time compared to this one other that I had seen called 'Nightmare Castle'.
Nightmare Castle was on parr with suspense and shock value for it's time. It was great, I recommend it.

Yea, Nightmare Castle is great! All those mid-60's, Barbara Steele films are a good watch. Might have to do some fan art for that one.

Oh hell yeah!
All I know is I love a lot of older movies before the slasher flicks came out. I get spooked by suspense built up to
jumpscares or simple frights. I dunno, I guess I'm biased.

I agree. Although, I love the 70's and 80's films as well, just a different vibe when you are in the mood for it.

Yeah, I'm not dissing the slasher flicks though. Those are what started my love of horror- I couldn't
sleep for a week after seeing Nightmare on Elm Street for the first time. xD

Hell, a couple of my prized possessions are autographs from John Landis, Doug Bradley, and Bill Moseley
from when I went to HorrorHound Weekend June 2007. Those are going to get framed once my husband and I are settled into our new apartment.
