I haven't drawn any zombies in a long while and can't let Halloween go by without at least drawing one. I like how this girl may have hung pumpkins around these trees and accidentally awakened the dead.

What I find creepy about this piece in particular is the way those grotesque abominations seem to be looking straight at you, coming your way, no doubt with the intention of feasting on some fresh brains. I find the presence of the damsel in distress, hiding behind the tree, to be somehow humorous. She fits in perfectly with the scene.
The swampy green environment, with the leafless dead trees occupying the background, is indeed a most appropriate atmosphere in which to put these roaming zombies. I don't think they could be more at home. The crooked picket fence in the foreground just adds that final, haunting touch.
Overall a great tribute to Halloween.
