DR. PHIBES by Hartman by sideshowmonkey DR. PHIBES by Hartman by sideshowmonkey
I was doodling while waiting for my computer to render some animation and ended up drawing Dr. Phibes. A really slow movie that is hard to sit through in one sitting but still has some cool visuals and art direction.

Not one of my best pieces by far but it was kind of fun doing the 70's type design to the background.

This is a movie that would be interesting to see remade. If you haven't noticed other popular movies raped and pillaged from Phibes. Look at movies like Saw or 7. Of course no one has been committed unicorn murderer in awhile...

"Years ago they took from me
The only thing I ever loved
For I've returned, hear me say
There's nowhere to run

Vengeance is mine, snap of your spine
Tracking, the wolf's at your throat

Succulently, the beast so silent feeding
Into Hell you go speeding
Your life's at stake
The abominable Dr. Phibes rises again
By the moon crypt doors open
Every last bone was broken
Murder without a clue
For Dr. Phibes rises again"

Dr. Anton Phibes, Organist. I love those 2 movies. I love them because he was a villain, but he always won in the end. Vulnavia was played by different actresses in both movies. The first actress to play Vulnavia was pregnant when they were casting the second movie, so they replaced her with Australian model Valli Kemp.

Great Art Deco scheme throughout the movie.

Tim Burton should make the remake.

Great piece!

HAHAHAHAHA!

Rockin'!

Is there any odd horror movie you haven't seen?

I really like this movie though, and have yet to see the sequel

Awesome job.

I have a theory going that Vincent Price is really the king of the universe.

If it's an actual physical list send it to me!

So I can add to my list of weirdo movies to see!
