I like the alien hound as well.

But what do they WANT with sexy astronaut girls???

I remember when I was a small child, I somehow wound up with several unrelated picture-books collecting scifi/horror pulp covers. I would spend hours going over them and pondering what the various aliens were up to in the stranger scenes.

That and Return of the Jedi (good old Jabba) warped my mental development for life.

I used to do the same thing. That stuff was and is so inspiring.

Hm. Here I thought the stick was an omagé to the 2001 : A Space Oddesy[sp?] flick. Though the suit helps steer the mind that direction.

It's c0ol how the aliens' uniforms buckle up the sides. :D This reminds me of the cover art to the ye olde EC horror and sci-fi comics. I used to collect the remakes of those 1950s classics. EC = East Coast. They had Tales from the Crypt, the Vault of Horror, the Haunt of Fear, and Weird Science. No, not THAT Weird Science. ;p They had other ones to0, but those four were my faves. Oh, and there was also Weird Fantasy which was similar to Weird Science. The artwork had that great Mars Attacks feel to it in all of these.

Thanks! I did this piece for my pal Bryan's sci-fi art book and wanted that old feel to it.

Just had to comment on how hilarious this looks... He's got a gun that looks like it could vaporize something to mere dust, but also has a stick in the other hand. It looks like he's gonna shoot everyone and play fetch with whatever that is crawling around at the bottom. =D

Very cool style too. I like the sketchy look because of how detailed it is and the shading. You have quite a knack for story-telling in your art.

:) I'm glad someone noticed that. I figured that the gun is solar powered and once the battery runs out he will just beat whatever is left with the stick.
